The instruction provided to a student who is identified for intervention through the response to instruction and intervention (RTI 2 ) framework developed by the department of education must be determined by the student's LEA, based on the individual student's needs. This section does not prohibit the department from using universal screeners or other assessments to measure student performance throughout the school year or at designated benchmarks.
