Text
(a)(1) Members of the board shall be residents and voters of the county in which they are elected and shall be citizens of recognized integrity, intelligence and ability to administer the duties of the office. To qualify to run as a member of the board of education, a person must be a qualified voter of the county and a resident of the county for one (1) year prior to the date of the qualifying deadline for running as a candidate for the board of education.
(2)No member of the county legislative body nor any other county official shall be eligible for election as a member of the county board of education.
(3)(A) Each member of the board of education who has a relative employed by the board shall declare such relationship prior to voting on any matter of business that shall have an effec
