§ 42-4-111 — Certain powers of municipal corporations

Any creating municipality and any participating municipality has all necessary powers in order to further the purposes of this chapter, any or all of which powers may be exercised by resolution of its governing body. Such powers include, without limitation, the power to: (1) Advance, donate or lend money or real or personal property to the authority; (2) Provide that any funds on hand or to become available to it for airport purposes shall be paid directly to the authority; (3) Cause water, sewer, gas, electric or other utility services to be provided to the authority's airport; (4) Sell, lease, dedicate, donate or otherwise convey to the authority any of its interest in any existing airport or other related property, or grant easements, licenses or other rights or privileges therein to the authority; (5) Open and improve streets, roads and alleys to the airport; (6) Provide police and fire protection services to the airport; and (7) Enter into agreements with the authority with regard to the transfer of its airport employees to the authority with the retention by such employees of any civil service status and accrued rights in pension, disability, hospitalization and death benefits.
