§ 4-3-2206 — Powers and duties of commissioner

(a)The department of tourist development is designated as the department for the implementation and administration of all tourism marketing and promotion, tourism partner services, and tourism economic development projects. The department has the power to facilitate, assist, and promote, in every practicable manner, the interests of tourism in this state.
(b)The commissioner shall:
(1)Collect, compile and distribute literature as to the facilities, advantages and attractions of the state, the historic, recreational and scenic points and places of interest within the state and the transportation and highway facilities of the state;
(2)Plan and conduct a program of information and publicity designed to attract to the state tourists, visitors and other interested persons from outside the
