(a)(1) There is hereby created the Tennessee residence commission, which shall be composed of six (6) voting, ex officio members, as follows: the governor, the first spouse, the commissioner of general services, the state architect, the chair of the Tennessee historical commission and the executive director of the Tennessee state museum, or their respective designees.
(2)The commission membership shall also include four (4) private citizens appointed by the governor to staggered terms of four (4) years. One (1) member shall serve an initial term of one (1) year, one (1) member shall serve an initial term of two (2) years, one (1) member shall serve an initial term of three (3) years, and one (1) member shall serve an initial term of four (4) years.
