(a)There is created a special account in the state treasury to be known as the Tennessee Civil War or War Between the States site preservation fund, hereinafter referred to as the "preservation fund".
(b)(1) Moneys in the preservation fund shall be used exclusively by the Tennessee historical commission to provide grants to private nonprofit organizations to match federal and other matching funds. All such grants shall be made solely for the fee simple purchase of, or purchase of protective interests in, any Tennessee Civil War or War Between the States historic site listed in the Report on the Nation's Civil War Battlefields, issued in 1993, or as amended or reissued pursuant to the Civil War Battlefield Preservation Act of 2002 (P.L. 107-359)( 16 U.S.C. § 469k ), as amended or suppleme
