If it appears to the director that any insurer or any director, officer, employee, or agent thereof has knowingly committed a violation of this chapter, the director may request of the attorney general that criminal proceedings be instituted in the circuit court of Hughes County. Any insurer which knowingly violates this chapter may be fined not more than twenty - five thousand dollars per violation. Any individual who knowingly violates this chapter may be fined in his individual capacity not more than two thousand dollars per violation.
