Pursuant to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Pub.
L.No. 111-148, no qualified health plan offered through a health insurance exchange established in the state may include elective abortion coverage. For the purposes of this section, an elective abortion is an abortion performed for any reason other than a medical emergency as set forth in subdivision 34-23A-1(5).
