Text

After receipt of a prescription drug order, the pharmacist shall offer to counsel each patient or caregiver who receives a prescribed drug or device from him on matters which in the exercise of the pharmacist's professional judgment the pharmacist deems significant. To this purpose, the pharmacist shall make a reasonable effort to obtain, record, and maintain pertinent patient information. Before January 1, 1993, the board shall establish minimum standards by rules adopted pursuant to chapter 1-26 for counseling patients and caregivers and for maintenance of patient information. Nothing in this section shall be construed to require a pharmacist to provide patient counseling for prescribed drugs:

(1)Administered to an inpatient or resident of a health care facility;
(2)Administered
