§ 32-35-1 — Definition of terms.

South Dakota·Title 32 MOTOR VEHICLES·Ch. 32-35 FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY OF VEHICLE OWNERS AND OPERATORS

Terms used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise plainly requires, shall mean:

(1)"Chauffeur," every person who is employed by another for the principal purpose of driving a motor vehicle and every person who drives a school bus transporting school children or any motor vehicle when in use for the transportation of persons or property for compensation;
(2)"Department," the Department of Public Safety;
(3)"Driver," every person who drives or is in actual physical control of a vehicle;
(4)"Judgment," any judgment which shall have become final by expiration without appeal of the time within which an appeal might have been perfected, or by final affirmation on appeal, rendered by a court of competent jurisdiction of any state or of the United States, upon a cause of act
