Text

The department must, upon receiving notification pursuant to 49 C.F.R. § 383.73 (September 29, 2022), that a commercial learner’s permit holder or a commercial driver license holder is prohibited from operating a commercial motor vehicle, downgrade the commercial learner’s permit or commercial driver license to a non-commercial motor vehicle operator's license. The downgrade must be completed and recorded on the commercial driver license information system within sixty days of the department's receipt of the notification. For purposes of §§ to 32-12A-72 , inclusive, the term "downgrade" means the department's removal of the commercial learner’s permit or commercial driver license privilege from the driver's license, as set forth in 49 C.F.R. § 383.5 (June 1, 1987).
