§ 20-7-5 — Novation defined.

South Dakota·Title 20 PERSONAL RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS·Ch. 20-7 ACCORD AND SATISFACTION, NOVATION AND RELEASE OF OBLIGATIONS
Novation is the substitution by contract of a new obligation for an existing one and is subject to the rules concerning contracts in general.
