Text
The attorney general may appoint such assistant attorneys general as may be necessary for efficient performance of his duties and may fix their compensation but no expenditure for any such purposes in excess of the amounts appropriated by the Legislature is authorized. The appointments of such assistants shall be in writing and filed in the Office of the Secretary of State. Such assistant attorney general shall have the same power and authority as the attorney general, and he shall, before entering upon the duties of his office, take and subscribe the official oath prescribed by the Constitution.
