§ 5-57-30. Investigation of I.D. card applications.

After receipt of an application for an I.D. card, the licensing authority shall conduct an investigation to determine whether the facts stated in the application are true and shall receive from the department of the attorney general all records of criminal information that it has or receives indicating any criminal activity on the part of the applicant for an I.D. card. The department of the attorney general will also submit the fingerprints of the applicant for an I.D. card to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for review.
