§ 5-38-26. Inspection by lienholders.

(a) For the purpose of inspecting repaired vehicles, a lienholder or lienholders shall be allowed forty-eight (48) hours or two (2) working days after notification by the body shop to inspect the vehicle at the body shop. The agent for the lienholder or lienholders inspecting the vehicle must be located within the state of Rhode Island and have the authority to sign the insurance check or draft.

(b) If the lienholder(s) fails to inspect within the time frame specified in subsection

(a), it must endorse the insurance company check or draft to the body shop.
