§ 5-37-32. Pap smears — Quality assurance standards.
Any licensed physician taking a pap smear or supervising the taking of a pap smear
            shall submit the smear for processing only to a laboratory licensed by the Rhode Island
            department of health specifically to perform cervical cytology, or accredited by the
            American Society of Cytology, or accredited by the College of American Pathologists,
            or a hospital accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care
            Organizations, or a hospital accredited by the American Osteopathic Association.
