§ 5-37-21. Fee splitting.
No physician shall directly or indirectly receive payment, reimbursement, compensation,
            or fee for a referral to any clinical laboratory. A violation of the provisions of
            this section shall constitute a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof may be punished
            by imprisonment for not longer than one year or a fine of not more than five hundred
            dollars ($500), or both.
