§ 5-3.1-20. Penalty for violations.
(a) Any person or entity who or that violates any provision of this chapter shall be guilty
            of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be subject to:
         
(1) In the case of an individual, a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000),
            or imprisonment for not more than one year, or both; or
         
(2) In the case of an entity, a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000).
         
(b) Whenever the board has reason to believe that any person or entity is liable to punishment

(b) Whenever the board has reason to believe that any person or entity is liable to punishment under this section, it may certify the facts to the attorney general of this state who may, in his or her discretion, cause appropriate proceedings to be brought.
