§ 5-16-2. Permit required.

No person may conduct or operate a public laundry in any city or town until the licensing authorities of that city or town shall have caused an inspection to be made of the laundry and shall have issued a permit for the operation of the public laundry. The permit shall be issued upon any terms and subject to any rules and regulations not inconsistent with law, that the licensing authorities prescribe for the purpose of protecting the public health and the suppression of unsanitary conditions. Every permit issued under the authority of this chapter shall continue in force until the first day of July in the year
