§ 5-14-2. Losses of property without fault of hotelkeeper.

No hotelkeeper or innkeeper is liable in any sum to any guest for the loss of any wearing apparel, goods, merchandise, or other personal property not mentioned in § 5-14-1, where it appears that the loss occurred without the fault or negligence of the hotelkeeper or innkeeper; nor is any hotelkeeper or innkeeper liable in any sum for the loss of any article or articles belonging to any guest and not within a room assigned to him or her, unless the article or articles are specially entrusted to the care and custody of the hotelkeeper or innkeeper or his or her agents or servants by special agreement,
