§ 42-7-3. Duties of chief clerk.
It shall be the duty of the chief clerk to file and keep a record of all official
            communications, books and documents of a public nature transmitted to the executive
            department and transfer those communications, books and documents to the chief clerk's
            successor in office in accordance with the provisions of §§ 38-1-1 and 38-1-2.
