§ 42-64-31. Other statutes.

Nothing contained in this chapter shall restrict or limit the powers of the Rhode Island commerce corporation arising under any laws of this state except where those powers are expressly contrary to the provisions of this chapter; provided, however, that the corporation shall not have any power to create, empower or otherwise establish any corporation, subsidiary corporation, corporate body, any form of partnership, or any other separate entity, without the express approval and authorization of the general assembly.
