§ 42-45-9. State historic preservation officer.

The governor shall designate a state historic preservation officer to serve at the governor's pleasure and until the officer's successor is appointed and qualified. The state historic preservation officer for the national park service shall also serve as state historic preservation officer. The state historic preservation officer shall act as the state's representative to the federal government, to other states, and to other interested parties in matters of historic preservation.
