§ 42-45-1. Legislative findings.
The general assembly finds that the historical, architectural, and cultural heritage
            of the state of Rhode Island should be preserved as a part of our life to enrich the
            experience of present and future generations, and that the continued expansion of
            urban development threatens the existence of our historical sites and structures.
