§ 42-28-45. Solicitation in name of state police.

No person shall solicit money from any individual or business in the name of the Rhode Island state police or any organization that would reasonably appear to be affiliated in any way with the Rhode Island state police or personnel thereof without advance written approval by the superintendent. Any person violating this section shall be imprisoned not exceeding six (6) months and/or fined in an amount not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500).
