§ 42-27-1. Commission created — Appointment of members.

(a) There is hereby created a special commission affiliated with the board of governors for higher education to be known as the Rhode Island atomic energy commission, consisting of five (5) members to be appointed by the governor, one of whom shall be designated by the governor as chairperson.

(b) During the month of March in each year, the governor shall appoint a member to succeed the member whose term will then next expire to serve for a term of five (5) years and until his or her successor shall be appointed and qualified, except that a member
