§ 42-100-1. State poet.
The governor shall appoint a "state poetâ€� to serve for a term of five (5) years at
            an annual salary of one thousand dollars ($1,000), and shall issue to the appointee
            a certificate upon which is designated the name of the appointee, the words, "state
            poet,â€� and the term of office set forth from beginning to ending month and year of
            service.
