§ 39-7-12. Catwalks and handrails on bridges.
Every railroad corporation or railroad company operating a railroad within this state shall on and after September 1, 1993, maintain and construct a handrail and catwalk on each railroad bridge and/or trestle that is constructed or renovated for use by the railroad. The handrail and catwalk shall extend the full length of the bridge or trestle. Every railroad that shall violate the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000).
