§ 37-8-9. Governors' portraits.

The secretary of state shall cause a portrait to be painted of each governor of the state as soon after the governor is inducted into office and also a portrait of any former governor of the state who may be living and whose portrait is not hung in the state house. Whenever any portrait is finished, the secretary of state shall deliver the portrait to the department of administration to be hung in the State House and the state controller is hereby authorized and directed to draw his or her order upon the general treasurer for a sum sufficient to pay for any portrait out of any money in the treasury not oth
