§ 37-7-6.1. Conveyances and grants to fire districts.

(a) Every fire district shall have the power and authority to purchase and/or receive gratuitously any tangible personal property state surplus property made available for sale or gift by the state.

(b) Any state chartered fire district whose electors have been authorized to assess and collect taxes may apply to any appropriate department, board, bureau, or other agency of this state for a grant of money to be expended on equipment or other property used in connection with and for the work of extinguishing fires and suppressing fire hazards.
