§ 35-4-9. Monthly reconciliation of depository accounts — Stopping payment on unpaid checks.

At least once a month the general treasurer shall obtain from each of the several depositories holding funds of the state, an account of the funds carried by him or her with the depository, shall compare the account with the records of his or her office, and shall list all outstanding checks issued by him or her and not returned by a depository as paid. Once annually, on June 30, the general treasurer shall notify all depositories holding funds of the state to stop payment on all checks listed as unpaid during the previous calendar year, and the amount shall
