§ 31-3-17.3. Temporary plates.

(a) The administrator of motor vehicles may design and issue, under such regulations as he or she shall deem appropriate, temporary registration plates. Any vehicle issued a temporary plate may be operated on the public highways for a period of five (5) days from the date of issuance.

(b) The administrator of motor vehicles shall design and issue, under such regulations as he or she shall deem appropriate, temporary registration plates to be issued by horse trailer dealers for the use on horse trailers. Any horse trailer issued a temporary plate may be operated on
