§ 22-13-6. Requests for auditing and accounting services.

(a) Every state department and agency which contemplates securing the services of an independent accounting firm to perform an audit of a federal assistance grant program shall first request the written approval of the auditor general.

(b) The request to the auditor general shall indicate the period of audit, the services to be rendered, the requirement for services (grant provisions, statutory requirements, etc.), the source(s) of funding, and any other pertinent information.
