§ 19-14.9-3. Definitions.

For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the following meaning unless the context otherwise requires:

(1) "Consumerâ€� means any person obligated or allegedly obligated to pay any debt, as defined by 15 U.S.C. § 1692a.

(2) "Consumer reporting agency� means any person which, for monetary fees, dues, or on a cooperative nonprofit basis, regularly engages in whole or in part in the practice of assembling or evaluating consumer credit information or other information on consumers for the purpose of furnishing consumer
