§ 17-14-2.1. Party candidates not eligible for independent nomination and independent candidates not eligible for party nomination.

No person who has filed a declaration of candidacy as an independent candidate pursuant to § 17-14-1 for an office for which a party candidate may be nominated pursuant to this chapter shall be eligible to file a declaration of candidacy as a party candidate for the same office or for any other public office in the same election year, and no person who has filed a declaration of candidacy as a party candidate pursuant to § 17-14-1 for an office for which an independent candidate may be nominated pursuant to this chap
