§ 13-8.1-4. Procedure.

(a) The parole board is authorized to grant medical parole release of a prisoner, except a prisoner serving life without parole, at any time, who is determined to be terminally ill, severely ill, or permanently physically or cognitively incapacitated within the meaning of § 13-8.1-3(2)-

(5).

(b) The parole board is authorized to grant geriatric parole release of a prisoner, except a prisoner serving life without parole, who is an aging prisoner within the meaning of § 13-8.1-3(1) or under medical parole as outlined by § 13-8.1-2.
