§ 11-41-13. Obtaining signature by false pretenses.
Every person who, by any false pretense or pretenses, with intent to cheat or defraud,
            shall obtain the signature of any person to any written instrument, the false making
            of which would be punished as forgery, shall be punished by imprisonment for not more
            than five (5) years or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or
            both.
