§ 11-25-7. Rescue of prisoner.
Every person who shall set at liberty or rescue, either by force or stratagem, any
            person convicted of any crime or offense or in the custody of any officer upon any
            criminal charge, or confined in any jail, lock-up, police station or other place of
            detention upon any criminal charge, shall be punished by imprisonment for not more
            than ten (10) years, or by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000),
            or both.
