§ 11-25-6. Officer negligently allowing escape.
Every jailer or other officer, who shall be convicted of negligently suffering any
            prisoner in his or her custody upon conviction or upon any criminal charge to escape,
            shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than five (5) years, or by a fine of
            not more than five hundred dollars ($500), or both.
