§ 11-17-9. Importation or possession of counterfeit coin with intent to pass.
Every person who shall bring into this state or have in his or her possession or custody
            any false or counterfeit coin, made and forged in imitation and similitude of any
            gold or silver coin current within this state by law or usage, knowing it to be false
            or counterfeit, with intent to utter or pass it in payment as true, shall be imprisoned
            not exceeding ten (10) years nor less than two (2) years.
