§ 11-17-8. Passing of counterfeit coins.
Every person who shall utter or tender in payment as true any false, forged or counterfeit
            coin, made and forged in imitation and similitude of any gold or silver coin current
            within this state by law or usage, knowing it to be false or counterfeit, with intent
            to defraud, shall be imprisoned not exceeding ten (10) years nor less than two (2)
            years.
