§ 11-17-3. Passing of counterfeit certificates, bills, or notes.
Every person who shall utter, publish, pass, or tender in payment as true, any false,
            forged, counterfeited, or altered certificate, security or bank bill or note, knowing
            it to be false, forged, counterfeited, or altered, with intent to defraud, shall be
            imprisoned not exceeding ten (10) years nor less than two (2) years.
