§ 7312 — Penalty for violation of chapter

(a)Fines and imprisonment.--Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a summary offense, punishable:
(1)For a first offense, by a fine of $100.
(2)For a subsequent offense, by a fine of not less than $200 nor more than $500 or imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both. (a.1) Specific violation.--In addition to any other criminal or civil penalties provided for in this title or in department regulations, any salvor who violates section 7311.2 (relating to salvors to remove abandoned vehicles in good faith) shall be fined not less than $1,000 nor more than $10,000, one-half to be paid to the department and the other one-half to be paid to the municipality where the vehicle was abandoned.
