Text

(a)General rule.--Unless covered under the bonding requirements of the act of December 20, 1967 (P.L.869, No.385), known as the Public Works Contractors' Bond Law of 1967, for construction contracts awarded for amounts between $25,000 and $100,000, the successful bidder shall furnish a bond guaranteeing performance of the contract, in an amount as determined by the county commissioners at the time of advertising for bids, which shall be no less than 10% or more than 100% of the amount of the contract, within 30 days after the contract is awarded. If a construction contract is awarded in excess of $100,000, the following bonds shall be delivered to the county and shall be binding on the parties upon the execution of the contract:
