Text
(1)The Oregon Board of Optometry operates as a semi-independent state agency subject to ORS 182.456 to 182.472, for the purpose of carrying out this chapter. The board consists of five members appointed by the Governor and subject to confirmation by the Senate in the manner provided in ORS 171.562 and 171.565. All members of the board must be residents of this state. Of the members of the board:
(a)Four must be doctors of optometry licensed and in practice in Oregon; and
(b)One member must be a member of the public who represents health consumers and who:
(A)Is not otherwise eligible for appointment to the board;
(B)Is not the spouse, domestic partner, child, parent or sibling of a doctor of optometry; and
(C)Does not have a direct or indirect relationship to health care professional
