Text

(1)As used in this section, “cell phone” means a handheld product that includes a battery, microphone, speaker and display and that is designed to send and receive transmissions through a cellular radiotelephone service.
(2)Except as provided in subsection (3) of this section, ORS 646A.850 applies to consumer equipment that is sold in this state or is in use in this state on or after January 1, 2025.
(3)ORS 646A.850 does not apply to:
(a)A cell phone that was manufactured for the first time, and first sold or used in this state, before July 1, 2021; or
(b)Consumer equipment other than a cell phone that was manufactured for the first time, and first sold or used in this state, before July 1, 2015.
