Text
(1)Except as provided in subsection (2) of this section and notwithstanding any other provision of law, the State of Oregon, a political subdivision of the state or an agency of the state or of a political subdivision of the state may not require an individual under 17 years of age who is a resident of this state to obtain a license or permit to engage in a business activity in which the individual operates as a sole proprietor under the individual’s own name.
(2)This section does not affect a statute, rule, ordinance or other provision of law that requires a license, certificate, registration, permit or other authorization to conduct a business activity that is subject to regulation for the purpose of protecting the environment or the public health, safety or welfare.
