Upon completion of any work authorized and performed under the provisions of ORS 527.346, the State Forester shall prepare a certified statement of the expenses necessarily incurred in performing the work. The state shall assist in the payment of control costs from funds available for that purpose. The balance of the expenses, after deducting the sum of such amounts as may be contributed by the state, the federal government or any other agencies or persons to defray control costs, shall constitute a charge against the forestlands or timber involved and shall be collected in the same manner as forest patrol assessments under the provisions of ORS chapter 477.
