(1)Subject to the approval of the Director of the State Department of Energy, a local government, public utility or other legally organized entity may direct moneys to the Energy Project Supplemental Fund or Jobs, Energy and Schools Fund for use within a limited geographic area of this state as a source of capital for financing energy efficiency and sustainable technology loans, small scale local energy program loans or loan offset grants.
(2)Any moneys deposited under this section shall be separately accounted for and shall be managed consistently with small scale local energy project goals and any agreement between the State Department of Energy and the entity providing the moneys.
