(1)If the proposal for consolidation is approved by a majority of the votes cast in each affected authority or is approved by a local government boundary commission, the governing body of the authority with the largest population according to the most recent federal decennial census shall call a joint meeting of the governing bodies of the affected authorities. The meeting shall be held at a time and place designated by the governing body calling the meeting, not later than 10 days after the canvass of the vote in the authority last canvassed. The secretary of the authority calling the meeting shall give notice of the time and place of the meeting to each member of the governing body of each affected authority.
